Day 3 - Gyeongbokgung Palace: Seoul, Korea

There was no one at the front desk of the hostel this morning for checkout, so I was unable to leave my pack while doing the last bit of site seeing here in SK. Needless to say, my back is aching as I sit here at the airport waiting for my flight to Phuket. I ended up carrying my 42 pound pack about 5 miles. Ouch.

Gyeongbokgung palace was quite beautiful. I was literally the very first person through the gate this morning (still waking up way too early everyday), so I was able to run around and get photos unobstructed by tourists, and really revel in the beauty of the intricate painting and architecture before the swarms of tour busses arrived.

At Incheon airport now, waiting for my flight to Phuket, Thailand. I don't arrive until 10:35pm, and after going through customs/immigration, I likely won't make it to my hotel until around 11:30. Oops. I really hate arriving in a foreign country after dark. That's what I get for rushing while buying my outbound flight and not paying attention to anything except the lowest fare!!! I was able to book a hotel for one night near the airport, so I can figure out how to make it an hour south to Patong Beach in the light of day tomorrow. :)

  2. Aside from Thailand, I think I'm doing countries you didn't hit. But any tips on Thailand I'd appreciate!
