It was pretty hard to sleep in the hut last night! It sounded like the soundstage for Jurassic Park!!! The sound of the waves were very nice though. I woke up as soon as the sun began to rise, and the long tail boats began their precession back and forth from the pier in Phi Phi town, to the resorts spread along the island.
I took the early morning boat ride to town to walk around. I love seeing the vendors selling fruits, flowers, and handmade goods. It's all so beautiful.
I took the 11:30 boat back, and spent the afternoon snorkeling, beach combing, and reading. There are only a few other guests sharing this little stretch of beach with me, so it's quiet even at dinner in the restaurant. Most of my company is of the four legged variety: a dog, tiny kittens, geckos, a cow and even a few chickens and bats (not four legged, lol) darting around.
Off to read and frantically charge all of my technology. With power for only a few hours a night, it's a mad rush to get all camera/phone/iPad batteries charged before it shuts off again.
Hopefully sleep will come easier tonight. I know now that the mosquito net worked last night, so I should sleep a little sounder!
